Frequently Asked Questions

How do I schedule a same-day sick visit?

Call our office as early as possible in the morning for the best availability. We reserve appointment slots each day specifically for sick children. We serve families throughout West Windsor, Bordentown, Monroe Township, and all of Mercer County, so early calls help ensure we can see your child the same day.

When should I bring my child in for a fever?

Contact us immediately if your baby under 3 months has a fever over 100.4°F. For older children, call if fever exceeds 104°F, lasts more than 3 days, or is accompanied by severe symptoms like difficulty breathing, rash, persistent vomiting, or unusual lethargy.

Do you test for strep throat and flu?

Yes! We perform rapid strep tests and influenza testing in our office during sick visits. Results are typically available within 15-20 minutes, allowing us to start appropriate treatment immediately if needed.

What if my child is sick after hours or on weekends?

Our on-call service is available after hours and on weekends. Call our main office number, and you'll receive instructions to reach the on-call pediatrician. For life-threatening emergencies, always call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Can you treat ear infections without antibiotics?

Not all ear infections require antibiotics. For mild cases in children over 2 years old, we may recommend watchful waiting with pain management for 48-72 hours. We'll prescribe antibiotics when necessary based on your child's age, symptoms, and examination findings.
